1978 Kenya 20 Shilingi Banknote

“First Kenyan President front & Lion family back”

The 1978 Kenya 20 Shilingi banknote features the first President Mzz Jomo Kenyatta on the front and a Lion family image on the back.  The Kenyan Shilingi currency replaced the East African Shilling in 1966 as money in Kenya.  The 1978 Kenyan 20 Shilingi banknote was later replaced by a coin in 1998.   Long out of circulation and print the 1978 Kenya 20 Shilingi is a lasting collectible of Kenyan money history in images of the Kenyan first president Kenyatta and a Lion family!

Banknotes are more than just money.  A country’s currency tells a story of the culture and history of a country.  In our current era of digital money, actual printing of banknotes is becoming obsolete.  Increasingly rare banknotes not only provide collectible memories but also can be considered small investments.
